New Tenants
Welcome to New Bern Hometown Storage.
We’re glad you are here!
Your gate access code is in the move in day email. Keep this email for future reference. Be sure to enter your 5 or 6 digit access code, then the pound sign to signal the gate that your code is complete. Example: 1 2 3 4 5 6 # Gate hours are 6am to 10pm. When you leave, pull toward the gate and the sensor will open the gate for you.
This gate access code is unique to you. Do not share it with anyone. Gate access is monitored and you are responsible for anyone who uses your code to access the property. If your code is ever lost or stolen, simply call and we can disable the old one and give you a new code.
How to Locate your Storage unit or Outdoor Parking Space
- Your storage unit is in one of four buildings. The red building in the back is building A and the tan buildings are labeled B, C & D. The units are numbered sequentially, starting with the red building A-01 to A-16, then continuing in the tan buildings B-17 to B-36, C37 to C-56 and D-57 to D-76.
- Outdoor parking spaces are perpendicular to the fences. Car and trailer spaces begin with OS-01 in front of the B building, along the right hand fence when you enter the property, then continue clockwise to the front of the property then the left side to the rear. Space numbers are mounted on the fence. Park only in your designated space. Back into your space and center your vehicle on the space # sign. Please leave 6 feet between your vehicle and the fence so the lawn crew has enough room to mow. Lock your vehicle before leaving. If you are parking a trailer, please secure it with a hitch lock.
Your storage unit is tagged and ready for you. Simply twist off the wire tag to remove it. Be sure to slide the latch all the way to the left before raising the door. (If the latch feels stuck or stopped, don’t force it: push the door down or lift up slightly then slide the latch into the catch. Notify us immediately if you have any problem with a door or latch.) Remember to bring a lock with you. When finished, close the door and slide the latch all the way to the right, then secure with the lock.
Emails & Auction List: We have regular auctions for the contents of unpaid storage units. If you would like to be added to our email list for auction notifications, just let me know.
Please review and abide the storage rules in the rental agreement. As a reminder, nothing liquid, perishable, flammable or explosive is permitted on the property. We operate on 30 day notice for changes, including rent, insurance and notice to vacate. Please notify us by phone or email when you are ready to move out so we can send you move out instructions.
One last thing: Most of our communications are via email, so please add Amy@NewBernHometownStorage.com to your contacts and safe sender list.
